Hailing from Britain, SG Lewis has built a career as a sought-after producer, songwriter, and DJ whose emotive and atmospheric style shapes dance-oriented electronic music. Early recognition arrived through remixes for artists including Jessie Ware, after which he issued his first EP, Shivers, in 2015. Subsequent partnerships with vocalists such as Gallant, Ray BLK, and Bishop Nehru led into 2018, when Lewis launched a three-part EP series centered on club culture that was eventually collected as the album Dusk, Dark, Dawn. His full-length debut Times reached number one on the U.K. Dance chart in 2021, and two years afterward he delivered the double album AudioLust & HigherLove. In 2024 he joined Tove Lo for the joint EP Heat.

Born in Reading, England, Lewis developed an interest in music during his teenage years and performed in several bands before turning to track remixing. Drawing from the introspective pop of Bon Iver and James Blake alongside the club-focused hip-hop of Common, Timbaland, and the Neptunes, he began sharing his own evocative, moody recordings online. The tracks quickly attracted a dedicated audience and secured him a DJ residency at London’s Chibuku Club.

A 2014 remix of Jessie Ware’s “You & I (Forever)” drew notice from Ware’s label PMR Records, resulting in a signing. The following year brought his debut EP Shivers. In 2016 Lewis released his second EP, Yours, which featured the track “Holding Back” with Gallant. His 2017 releases included the Toulouse-assisted single “Times We Had” and the solo cut “Smart Aleck Kill.” January 2018 saw the arrival of “Aura,” a luminous yet understated song with vocalist J Warner, which opened the disco-tinged Dusk and launched his trilogy of club-oriented EPs. The Dark and Dawn installments followed over the next twelve months and were later assembled under the title Dusk Dark Dawn. Additional collaborations continued, among them James Vickery’s 2019 single “Pressure.” After issuing further singles through 2020—including his biggest hit to date, “Chemicals”—Lewis announced his debut album Times in October of that year. The musician characterized the project as an “ode to the present moment, and the finite chances we have to celebrate it”; it appeared in February 2021 with contributions from Rhye, Robyn, and Lucky Daye and topped the U.K. Dance Albums chart. The non-album release “Missing You”/“Something About Your Love” surfaced in 2022. Lewis’s second LP, AudioLust & HigherLove, arrived in early 2023 as a two-part set exceeding an hour in length, intended to reflect love’s opposing facets. In 2024, after appearing on Shygirl’s charting dance track “Mr. Useless,” he partnered with Tove Lo on the joint EP Heat.
