Biography
Vocalist Sandra Carrasco, guided by the mentorship of Spanish musician Javier Limón, stands among the leading voices of a fresh wave of flamenco performers who sustain the tradition rooted in Andalusia. She entered the world in Almonte, Huelva during 1981, and her affinity for the style took root through repeated exposure to Mayte Martín alongside Enrique Morente. While pursuing simultaneous studies in music and religion at university, she deepened her involvement by enrolling in flamenco sessions led by Manolo Sanlúcar and Arcangel. Worldwide tours alongside Nuevo Ballet Español, paired with background vocal contributions to Estrella Morente, José Mercé, and Anoushka Shankar, eventually brought her into contact with Limón; he selected her for the principal part in the musical Enamorados Anonimos and also oversaw production of her debut record issued under her own name by EMI in 2011.
