The Savoy-Doucet Cajun Band pursues twin goals of delivering exceptional performances while shielding Cajun music from outside influences. An unmatched lineup allows the ensemble to meet both aims with notable success. Savoy ranks among the country's foremost accordionists yet also functions as a skilled artisan who builds the very instruments he performs on. Doucet supplies fiddle when not leading the acclaimed group Beausoleil, and Savoy's wife Ann provides guitar. Ann wrote the book Cajun Music - A Reflection of People, a work that underscores the band's dedication to tradition.
