Biography
Sea Oleena serves as the creative outlet for Montreal-based Canadian artist Charlotte Oleena, whose sound drifts across ambient dream pop and experimental post-folk realms through layered atmospheric textures, delicate guitar treatments, and a prevailing autumnal melancholia. Assisted by her brother Luke Loseth, she issued a self-titled mini album in 2010 and followed it a year later with the second mini album Sleeplessness. Her crystalline voice and atmospheric tones have drawn comparisons to Grouper and Julianna Barwick, while more structured passages recall the work of dream pop pioneers the Cocteau Twins alongside a kitsch-less Julee Cruise. For her third release and first full-length LP, she joined the roster of Oregon-based indie Lefse Records, which issued her label debut Shallow in September 2014.
