South London DJ and producer Seb Wildblood creates dance music shaped by downtempo aesthetics, layering soft melodic lines over rhythm-driven foundations. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, he had scant local access to club sounds and instead absorbed post-rock during his formative period, drawing from acts like Explosions in the Sky and American Football. In his early twenties he relocated to London and established himself in Peckham’s creative enclave. There, during the early 2010s, he connected with fellow producer and DJ Apes; the pair conceived the club night Church, taking its name from St. Giles Church, the venue for their initial events. Once the church discovered the parties’ actual character the series was halted, yet Corsica Studios soon invited them to program Thursday nights, allowing the brand to continue at the new site. By 2012 Church had expanded into a record label whose debut offering was Lorca’s “Love Like This” 12". Wildblood began treating production with greater focus in 2013, issuing the digital-only Töreki EP on Madtech and the 12" single “Feel” via Church. His first mini-album, Foreign Parts, appeared in 2015; although initially submitted to another imprint for release, the arrangement fell through, prompting him to create the SW catalog number so the project could proceed without postponing Church’s release schedule. The following year he placed his second mini-album, U, on his own label and simultaneously launched the subsidiary Coastal Haze, which concentrated on cassette editions to circumvent vinyl’s extended manufacturing cycles. Another productive stretch arrived in 2017 with the mini-album :~^ (also known as The One with the Emoticon) and the founding of the additional imprint All My Thoughts. Much of late 2017 and early 2018 was occupied by DJ dates that included runs across North America, Japan, and Australia. Wildblood resurfaced in 2019 with the album Sketches of Transition, featuring vocal contributions from mauv and Buddy Love.
