Biography
Forming the Los Angeles pop duo Shallows, singer Dani Poppitt joined forces with guitarist and producer Marshall Gallagher. In 2016 these songwriters merged their talents to fuse alt-rock, shoegaze, and mainstream dance pop into a sound they labeled glitter pop. Their first offering arrived with the catchy single "Summer Sucks," after which they closed out the year by issuing two gloomier cuts, "Ride to Die" and "Empire of the Animal." Shallows opened 2017 with the pair of tracks "Matter" and "Drive Away," both marked by a lighter, 1980s-tinged approach.
