Sweden-based electronic musician Lain Trzaska produces bright, energetic soundscapes under the moniker she, grounding each release in conceptual frameworks that weave distinct storylines. Female characters dominate the project's music and visuals, reflecting strong influences from Japanese animation and pop. Although Trzaska often employs tracker programs and maintains ties to the chiptune community, his output spans industrial textures, distorted electro, and funky progressive house, frequently layering heavily processed vocals over melancholic, emotionally direct lyrics. Technological corruption serves as a recurring obsession, evident in the extensive glitch and distortion applied to both tracks and artwork.

Born in Krakow, Poland, in 1983, Trzaska relocated to Sweden during childhood and studied piano and violin. As a teenager he designed 2-D video games along with their soundtracks before shifting his primary focus to music. After several years composing chiptunes, he launched the conceptual project she in 2003, broadening his palette to include diverse electronic and acoustic instruments while favoring poppy yet experimental structures. The debut release, the industrial-leaning Emit and Exude, preceded the more experimental Digital Ambient Designs in 2005. In 2006 the chiptune label 8bitpeoples issued the Pioneer EP, created chiefly on a Game Boy. Days followed in 2007, and Coloris and Chiptek appeared in 2008. That same year Pony Canyon, a Japanese imprint, signed she and issued a compact-disc edition of Coloris plus the 2009 album Orion. Although Electric Girl was slated for 2010, the project was ultimately shelved; she instead self-released the digital EP Journeys in 2011.

In May 2012 Trzaska placed she on hiatus, only to announce days later that the project would split into two separate entities: dance-oriented bitpop under the name she and experimental ambient material under Imagery by Sound. Electric Girl finally surfaced later that year, accompanied by the debut Imagery by Sound album Insomnia. Trzaska then turned toward shorter formats, issuing six singles and EPs throughout 2013. In October of that year he introduced a third outlet, D7VON, to explore his industrial and dark electro interests. During 2014 he confirmed work on a new she album that would mark his first return to chiptune since 2006. The singles “Come a Little Closer” and “Axiom” arrived in 2015.
