Simbiose

Formed in Portugal in 1991 as a death and grind metal outfit, Simbiose featured dual vocalists Hugo and João from the outset. Local stages soon hosted the group, which issued its first demo, Até Quando?, in 1993 as the start of a series of such recordings. The next nine years brought only scattered splits and EPs, until the full-length Naked Mental Violence appeared in 2002. A split with Spain's Disface followed in 2003, and the second album, Bounded in Adversity, arrived in 2004. Touring with Driller Killer, Dead Infection, and Extreme Noise Terror occupied most of the next two years, during which Simbiose also issued two more splits—one with Brazil's Taiko and another with frequent collaborator and performance partner Driller Killer—while navigating two bass-position changes and a guitar vacancy. The Anti-Corpos full-length Evolution? marked a return in 2007, and 2008 consisted largely of road work that included dates in Brazil and the United Kingdom.
