Biography
Sir Rosevelt functions as the dance-pop outlet for jam-friendly country singer/songwriter Zac Brown. The notion took shape while he tracked the Zac Brown Band's 2015 album Jekyll + Hyde, an effort written largely alongside Niko Moon. Brown and Moon then brought in Ben Simonetti, whose drum programming covered just under half of Jekyll + Hyde, and together the three began composing and laying down horn-heavy, hook-driven dance material while shaping a matching live presentation. The trio introduced Sir Rosevelt in September 2016 via the Pharrell Williams-produced single "Sunday Finest." Several bonus cuts—"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us," "For My Own," and "Take Your Love Away"—surfaced briefly on the project's official Twitter account before disappearing from the web. A pair of "Sunday Finest" remixes appeared in 2017 while the group readied a full-length release. That self-titled debut, which gathered every prior promotional single, reached stores in December 2017.
