Smoky

A Latin rap artist hailing from Mazatlán, the coastal resort city in Mexico’s Sinaloa state, Smoky launched his career in 2005 at the age of 16 by founding the Poetas Callejeros collective and taking the stage at prominent local festivals in his hometown. In subsequent years he honed his skills through extensive tours across Mexico while securing broad visibility via partnerships with the 3BallMTY trio and the Latin Power Music label, both overseen by producer Toy Selectah. Those efforts yielded radio airplay across Latin America, continued live dates, and performances at Billboard’s Mexican Music Awards, Premios Juventud, and the People en Español Awards. By 2014 Smoky had parted ways with Latin Power Music to operate independently, issuing solo singles and teaming with Mexican urban artist Zimple for the 2015 hit “Mamacita” as well as with MC Davo on the track “La Propuesta.” After signing with Warner Music in early 2016, he resurfaced in 2017 with the singles “¿Cuánto Más?” and “Sola.”
