Originating from Miami, Sabrina Claudio surfaced in the second half of the 2010s with a style rooted in R&B that emphasized understated, emotionally charged ballads. Tracks such as “Belong to You” and “Unravel Me,” both featured on her debut mixtape About Time, generated substantial streaming figures. The 2018 single “Don't Let Me Down,” which included Khalid, performed solidly on the R&B charts; she followed this with the 2019 album Truth Is and the 2020 holiday project Christmas Blues. Her studio album Based on a Feeling appeared in 2022, while the compilation Archives & Lullabies arrived the following year.

During her youth, Claudio absorbed the dance music prevalent in her hometown of Miami before gravitating toward pop-inflected contemporary R&B exemplified by Mariah Carey and Destiny's Child. Her initial significant moves as a recording artist occurred in 2016 through guest spots on Classmatez’s “No Titles” and Duckwrth’s “I'm Dead,” alongside the self-uploaded EP Confidently Lost. Within six months her streams had reached the millions. The full-length About Time incorporated several selections from that EP together with the advance singles “Unravel Me” and “Belong to You,” and the digital-only release registered on charts across 31 countries. Her second album, No Rain, No Flowers, surfaced in 2018; the singles “All to You,” “Don't Let Me Down” featuring Khalid, “All My Love” featuring Wale, and “As Long As You're Asleep” were issued in early 2019, with the last of these later appearing on Truth Is. Claudio delivered her first holiday album, Christmas Blues, in 2020. After remaining inactive throughout 2021 she resurfaced in January 2022 with the single “Put On Repeat,” which was included on Based on a Feeling. Archives & Lullabies, containing multiple acoustic versions, was released in 2023.
