Florida rapper $NOT navigates an array of present-day rap approaches while favoring a calm handling of prevailing trap textures. His rise came after the 2018 single "Gosha" led to a deal with 300 Entertainment, which issued the 2020 studio albums - Tragedy + and Beautiful Havoc. Ethereal, his third full-length, followed in 2022 and was introduced by the A$AP Rocky collaboration "Doja." Later singles comprised 2023's "Easter Pink" and "Cruel World," after which his fourth album Viceroy surfaced in 2024.

The artist's first release was the 2017 single "By Myself," shaped by the period's independent spirit. Early output reflected involvement across prominent circles, shifting between circular trap reminiscent of Playboi Carti and the aggressive, vocal-forward tracks associated with XXXTentacion. Throughout 2018 he moved toward introspective territory, employing a subdued, BONES-like delivery on tracks such as "Joyful" and "Mi Vida Loca." His initial outing, the five-track EP The Ti$$ue Files, arrived in April 2018 and captured the understated production of his prior work through an exploratory selection of subdued trap material.

"Gosha," issued in October 2018, delivered $NOT's breakthrough with its characteristic unhurried flow and quickly accumulated tens of millions of streams globally. Backed by growing support, he explored further in 2019, including a country-trap experiment on "Billy Boy," before releasing his debut album - Tragedy + in March 2020. That project extended his established chilled-trap framework with updated production and featured the established cuts "Gosha" and "Beretta." October brought the follow-up Beautiful Havoc, which contained appearances by Iann Dior, Denzel Curry, and Flo Milli.

Fresh tracks emerged in 2021, among them "Whipski" with Internet Money and Lil Skies plus the Cochise collaboration "Tell Em." February 2022 saw the arrival of Ethereal, which included contributions from A$AP Rocky, Trippie Redd, Kevin Abstract, and additional guests. Further releases encompassed "Ms Porter" featuring Night Lovell, "Immaculate," "Simple," the Eem Triplin track "Let You Know," and "Vivid" with Rich Brian. Solo offerings "Easter Pink" and "Cruel World" arrived in 2023, preceding the 2024 full-length Viceroy.
