Biography
Electronic duo Sound Support craft dance tracks steeped in glistening '80s electro and disco textures. Their first outing arrived as the 2020 EP Stab by Stab, which they followed with the brighter, club-focused La Danse Heureuse in 2022 and the Higher EP the next year.
Sound Support came together in 2020 around Dutch producer Lars Dales and German keyboardist Lorenz Rhode. The two first crossed paths while playing in the live band supporting Dales’ project Dam Swindle; an immediate rapport led them to start writing material together. That same year they placed their debut EP, Stab by Stab, on the Internasjonal label run by Prins Thomas and Kai Frager. La Danse Heureuse appeared in 2022, carrying a similarly nostalgic synth-pop charge, while Higher surfaced twelve months later and leaned further into '70s disco and funk grooves.
