Biography
Conrad Standish, who handled bass and vocals, joined forces with guitarist and electronics specialist Tom Carlyon to establish the electro pop duo Standish/Carylon after both had played in the Australian indie rock band Devastations. Once that earlier group completed its final album, the pair chose to keep working together and explore a sound of dubby, shoegaze-inflected synth pop that recalled early Scritti Politti and A.R. Kane. Felte Records signed them, and they tracked their debut album, Deleted Scenes, in London alongside producer Aaron Cupples before the record appeared in spring of 2013.
