Stefanie Hertel ranks among Germany’s better-known voices in schlager, the country’s buoyant pop tradition, after releasing more than a dozen albums that include the 1992 title Über Jedes Bacherl Geht a Brückerl, the 1993 collection Tausend Kleine Himmel, and 1997’s Lieder zum Verlieben. The last of those projects, her ninth overall, arrived on the day she turned eighteen. Born to the folksinger Eberhard Hertel, she stepped onto a stage for the first time at age four and issued her debut long-player, So a Stückerl Heile Welt, in 1991. Wed to trumpeter Stefan Mross, she returned in 2006 with her sixteenth full-length album, Liebe Hat Tausend Gesichter.
