The German schlager duo Fantasy unites the voices of Freddy März and Martin Marcell, two musicians who first crossed paths in the late 1990s while each pursued a solo career under the same management and production team. After joining forces for repeated encores during shared concert bills, they chose to launch a joint project. Their debut single, “Herz Gesucht,” appeared in 1998 and was soon followed by “Olé, Olá, Mallorca” in 1999 and “Sag Ich Will” in 2000. Only in 2005 did the pair issue their first full-length album, Mein Schönstes Geschenk, whose lead track “Geh mit Ihm” marked the first composition written by the duo themselves. A second studio effort, Alle Wissen Es Schon, surfaced the following year. Schlager vocalist Andrea Berg invited Fantasy to join her tour, an opportunity that markedly raised their profile, and the 2009 release Land in Sicht brought them their first chart entry with the single “Halleluja.” The fourth album, König in der Nacht, arrived in 2010, while the 2012 compilation Best Of: 10 Jahre Fantasy collected a decade of material. Their fifth studio set, Endstation Sehnsucht, reached number three on the German charts in 2013. The 2014 album Eine Nacht im Paradies earned gold certification and topped the charts in both Germany and Austria, and two years later Freudensprünge, recorded with legendary producer Dieter Bohlen, likewise climbed swiftly to the summit.
