Emerging after more than ten years of modest visibility, the Argentina-born crooner Semino Rossi rose to become one of the foremost vocal stars across Central Europe. He entered the world in Rosario, Argentina, on May 29, 1962, and reached Austria in 1986, where he began performing as a hotel singer. Over the ensuing period he divided his time between summer engagements in Spain and winter seasons in Austria before establishing permanent residence in Innsbruck. There he affiliated with the Worldmasters für Lateinamerikanische Tänze in 1995, an association that reached its peak in 2001 when he claimed the title of Weltmeister in Lateinamerikanischer Musik at the world championship held in Japan. During that same year he inked a deal with Universal, which issued his debut German-language LP, Alles Aus Liebe, in 2004. A year afterward came Tausend Rosen für Dich, an album that entered the German Top Ten and reinforced his rising profile. Rossi concluded 2005 by releasing the holiday collection Feliz Navidad. His 2006 effort, Ich Denk an Dich, marked his strongest commercial showing yet and earned him both the ECHO and the Amadeus Austrian Music Award. Continued momentum arrived with Einmal Ja - Immer Ja, which registered among Germany’s Top 50 albums in 2008, a placement matched the next year by Liebe Bleibt. Another strong showing followed in 2011 with Augenblicke, which climbed to number six on the German sales charts, while 2013’s Symphonie des Lebens reached number two in Germany and ascended to the top position in Austria.
