Biography
Subgiant, an English dance group, earned greater recognition through live performances at festivals compared to their studio recordings. Although primarily identified with breaks and trance genres, the band wove in elements of dub and drum’n’bass across their career span. The trio came together in 2000, consisting of Olly Maw handling bass, keyboards, and programming, Tushar Joshi on drums and percussion, along with Dan Hayes managing turntables. Their popularity surged at outdoor events during the middle of the decade, leading to performances at prominent gatherings such as Bestival and Glastonbury. The members Maw, Joshi, and Hayes put out a trio of albums in that period: Advances in Twig Technology in 2005, followed by Global Control in 2006, and concluding with This in 2008.
