Biography
Symfonia emerged as an internationally sourced melodic metal project anchored in Finland. Its lineup coalesced into a supergroup assembled from musicians active across multiple progressive metal outfits, specifically Brazilian vocalist Andre Matos of Angra and Shaman, German drummer Uli Kusch from Helloween, Gamma Ray, and Masterplan, Finnish guitarist Timo Tolkki of Stratovarius, and keyboardist Mikko Härkin formerly with Sonata Arctica. The ensemble tracked its debut album In Paradisum at Sweden’s Studio Mega toward the close of 2010, after which Edel issued the recording in spring 2011.
