Biography
In 2001 Steve Williams on keyboards and Steve Scott on bass launched this British power metal group after both had appeared in DragonForce’s earliest roster. Members were drawn from England and Italy alike; guitarists Sam Totman and Adam Bickers, also formerly of DragonForce, soon augmented the founding duo. The original lineup reached completion only when Italian band Arthemis supplied vocalist Alessio Garavello and guitarist Andrea Martongelli.
Wings Of Forever arrived in 2002 as a competent yet unremarkable slice of melodic power metal; afterward the previously part-time Martongelli became a permanent member, displacing Bickers. Neverworld followed in 2003, after which another Italian, Francesco Tresca, assumed the full-time drum chair that session players had occupied on the first two albums. During the same stretch Totman left to focus exclusively on DragonForce.
Mid-decade visibility rose thanks to favorably received UK shows and the strong 2005 release Magic Never Dies. Garavello doubled as rhythm guitarist on the band’s 2008 Napalm Records debut Master Of Illusion.
