Biography
Metal band Lost Horizon came together in the closing years of the 1990s and the opening years of the 2000s. A demo disc secured the ensemble—comprising vocalist Daniel Heiman, drummer Christian Nyquist, guitarist Wojtek Lisicki, and bassist Martin Furängen—a deal with the Music for Nations imprint, resulting in the May 2001 arrival of their first full-length effort, Awakening the World. In the interval separating that record from its 2003 successor, A Flame to the Ground Beneath, the lineup expanded to six members through the enlistment of keyboardist Attila Publik and guitarist Fredrik Olsson, musicians who prefer the term “warriors” when describing their collective identity. The group endured a serious tour-bus crash mere weeks ahead of the second album’s release yet pressed on with live dates promoting the project.
