In the emerging realm of British futuristic urban pop, Talay Riley distinguishes himself alongside Jay Sean and Taio Cruz as a key singer, songwriter, and producer. Born in London in 1990, he took up singing during childhood. Shaped by the U.K. grime movement and the sleek R&B of Usher and Joe, he completed his first composition at age 17. After writing Chipmunk's U.K. number one "Oopsie Daisy" and supplying guest vocals on the rapper's follow-up Top Ten hit "Look at Me," Riley left his university course in law and business to devote himself fully to music. He joined Jive Records in 2009 and journeyed to L.A. to work on tracks with Rodney Jerkins and Ryan Tedder. Subsequent tours with N-Dubz led to the release of his debut solo single "Humanoid," while he also supplied material for Justin Bieber, JLS, and Tinie Tempah. His first album, drawn from the movie Avatar, was set for release in 2011.
