Tears of Technology

Dan Carrone, who records as Tears of Technology and also performs under the name New Orleans' Dan the Man, works as an independent electronic artist whose productions center on breakbeat, trance, and electro. Raised in New Orleans, he came from a musical household in which his father earned his living as a saxophonist. Carrone began studying piano at age six, moved to saxophone in elementary school, and started DJ'ing local clubs once he reached his twenties. While maintaining a radio broadcasting job alongside his turntable work, he began creating original tracks and remixes of his own. Issuing material under both Tears of Technology and New Orleans' Dan the Man, he launched the 504 label, which has released his albums The Soul Never Forgets in 2006, Our World in 2007, and This Is How I Cry in 2008. He keeps an active presence online and continues to issue remixes and singles, among them the 2011 track "Higher" and "All I Am" from 2015.
