Biography
Reviving the mellow textures of 1980s country in a manner reminiscent of Midland, the vocal harmony trio Texas Hill unites two alumni of televised singing contests. Adam Wakefield and Craig Wayne Boyd each competed on The Voice, where the latter claimed victory during season seven, while Casey James previously appeared on American Idol. Following separate attempts at solo careers, the three musicians united under the Texas Hill name and issued their first full-length effort, Heaven Down Here, in 2022.
Casey James and Craig Wayne Boyd share roots in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, forging an extra connection beyond their television experiences. The duo developed a friendship in 2019 and soon brought Wakefield into the circle. Impressed by their vocal blend and interplay, the three formally established Texas Hill, which surfaced first with a self-titled EP in 2020. Later that year came the live mini-album Stabal Session, followed in 2021 by the seasonal release Christmas Carols, Vol. 1. For their debut studio album, Texas Hill enlisted the backing musicians associated with Anderson East to record the laid-back set Heaven Down Here, which surfaced midway through 2022.
