Biography
In 2001 the Blam assembled in Brooklyn as a quartet of jangly indie rock players—singer/guitarist Jerry Adler, guitarist Reuben Maher, bassist Itamar Ziegler, and drummer Yuval Lion—who had first noticed one another’s work in separate projects. Jerry Adler drew his chief inspiration from the Beatles, yet the band’s music also folded punk and indie rock into pristine pop. Recording took place inside a private studio they operated themselves, and the self-titled album stood ready for release in early 2003. Slightly more than a year afterward the group issued its second album, Caveat Emptor, whose guitar pop assumed a smoother, dreamier character.
