Biography
Los Angeles siblings Mikaiah and Anaiah Lei fuse punk, blues, grunge, and further strands into the singular sonic identity of their project, the Bots. The pair launched the band in 2006 while still quite young, shortly after leaving elementary school; vocalist/guitarist/bassist Mikaiah and percussionist/vocalist Anaiah cut their debut album at ages 15 and 12, respectively. Working independently, they produced and issued two additional albums, sharing bills with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blur, Refused, and Bad Brains while also performing at the Vans Warped Tour and Afropunk Festival. The duo then signed with Fader, which released the Sincerely Sorry EP in 2013. Their first full-length for the label, Pink Palms, appeared in October 2014 and included production from Justin Warfield and Nick Zinner.
