The spirited indie rock outfit the Chevin, whose name references the ridge overlooking their home borough of Otley in West Yorkshire, emerged from Leeds, England, and fuse the Guillemots’ eclectic arrangements with the stadium-sized delivery of the Killers. Childhood friends Coyle Girelli, Mat Steel, Jon Langford, and Mal Taylor formed the quartet in 2010, and it drew notice in 2011 with the soaring debut single “Champion,” which appeared on an EP of the same title. Their first full-length studio album, Borderland, followed the next year.
