Biography
Beyond the prominent ensembles that dominated the bubblegum pop surge toward the end of the 1960s, including the Archies, Banana Splits, 1910 Fruitgum Company, and Ohio Express among others, numerous additional performers failed to garner equivalent recognition or commercial achievement, with the Cuff Links serving as one example. Following the fabricated Archies' tremendous success via their 1969 release of "Sugar Sugar," vocalist Ron Dante rejoined the Cuff Links, his primary group during that period, an outfit that essentially replicated the Archies' sound. The Cuff Links achieved limited chart success with the tracks "Tracy" and "When Julie Comes Around" prior to their dissolution, as Dante declined to perform live with the Archies or the Cuff Links alike.
