The Dares

The Dares, a punk-pop trio, originated in 1998 when eight-year-old twins Ben and Matt Peterson launched the group. Their addition of Martin Lascano as the third member led to multiple local performances and showcases throughout Burlington, VT, which helped establish them as a regional favorite. Recognizing that success lay on the West Coast despite lacking driver's licenses, the band relocated to Whittier, CA, in 2003. Resuming live shows the following year, they started in Long Beach before expanding to prominent Hollywood venues such as the Whisky and the Viper Room. The year 2009 brought broader attention when their track "It's Your World" served as the theme for Free Realms, Sony's popular online role-playing game, fueling an online surge in fan support that turned the Dares into teen sensations.
