Timmy T secured only fleeting renown across a short-lived career, yet he commanded attention for several months in 1991 after landing a number-one single with the freestyle ballad "One More Try." That track earned platinum status by April and established the performer—born Timothy Torres in Fresno, CA—as one of the few freestyle artists to break through beyond the style’s main hubs in Miami and New York. Following the release of his two albums, Time After Time in 1990 and All for Love in 1992, Timmy T withdrew from public life to concentrate on raising a family.
