Linear

Emerging from Miami's dance-pop scene in the late 1980s, the American freestyle pop group Linear formed through an early partnership between vocalist Charlie Pennachio and producer Tolga Katas. Their composition "Sending All My Love" reached the Top Ten after Atlantic acquired the track in 1990. On the band's self-titled breakthrough debut, Pennachio was joined by guitarist Wyatt Pauley and percussionist Joey Restivo, whose dance-oriented pop incorporated guitar-rock elements. The next single, "T.L.C.," climbed to number 30 on Billboard's Hot 100, yet the accompanying 1992 album Caught in the Middle failed to chart. Following several lineup changes, Linear issued "Let's Go All the Way" in 1994. Pennachio later wrote and produced hits for Mandy Moore, Anastacia, and John Rich. The group continued as a duo of Pennachio and Pauley into the 2020s.
