Trails And Ways

Formed in Northern California as a self-described "bossa nova dream pop" quartet, Trails and Ways unites Emma Oppen on bass and vocals, Keith Brower Brown handling vocals, rhythm guitar and keyboards, Ian Quirk on drums, and Hannah Van Loon on lead guitar and keyboards. The four first connected as students at UC Berkeley. Citing Beach Fossils, Of Monsters and Men, and Passion Pit while drawing from Spanish flamenco, Música Popular Brasileira, and sunny Cali indie pop, they released their debut EP, Trilingual, in 2012; the collection, performed in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, contained the regional hit "Mtn Tune." The group later signed with Seattle indie Barsuk, which issued the quartet’s first studio long-player, Pathology, in June 2015.
