Biography
TSHA crafts a bright, melody-driven fusion that pulls together progressive house, Afro-house, rave, and dance-pop. Operating from London as a self-taught producer and DJ, she first gained notice with her opening EP, Dawn, issued in 2018, an achievement that secured a Ninja Tune contract. Further tracks such as “Sister,” taken from the 2020 Flowers EP, and the 2021 NIMMO collaboration “OnlyL” widened her reach, paving the way for the arrival of her first album, Capricorn Sun, in 2022 and the follow-up full-length Sad Girl two years later.
An instinct for catchy hooks guided her productions, which drew inspiration from Floating Points, Bonobo, and Jon Hopkins. After introducing herself with Dawn, she issued the single “Sacred,” which Bonobo selected for his 2019 Fabric Presents compilation. Regular appearances on Rinse FM, alongside sets at U.K. clubs and festivals, lifted her visibility and led to Moonlight, her first EP on Ninja Tune’s Counter Records imprint, released later that same year. A remix of Millie Turner’s “January” opened 2020; she then unveiled the singles “Sister” and “Change,” both included on Flowers. Momentum carried into 2021 with “Power” and “OnlyL,” the latter again featuring NIMMO. In 2022 she delivered the Fabric Presents TSHA mix before unveiling Capricorn Sun, which showcased guest contributions from Oumou Sangaré, MAFRO, and Clementine Douglas. The 2023 collaboration “Killing Me” paired her with Aluna, while “Somebody” spotlighted Ellie Goulding and Gregory Porter. Her second album, Sad Girl, surfaced in 2024 and paid tribute to the R&B ballads and anthemic techno that shaped her formative years, with Caroline Byrne, Ingrid Witt, and Abi Flynn appearing among its vocalists.
