Turbowolf surfaced in 2008 as a Bristol-based hard rock ensemble whose fluid style fuses punk, psych-rock, metal, and electronica, evoking the spirit of Death from Above 1979, Queens of the Stone Age, Wolfmother, and Royal Blood. The lineup coalesced around Chris Georgiadis on vocals and synth, Andy Ghosh on guitar, Lianna Lee Davies on bass, and Blake Davies on drums. Early on, the quartet sharpened its singular approach through relentless touring that placed them alongside Korn, Pulled Apart by Horses, and the Eighties B-Line Matchbox Disaster. A 2011 agreement with Hassle Records paved the way for their self-titled debut album soon afterward. The Covers EP, Vol. 1 appeared in 2012 and presented the band’s renditions of material by Jefferson Airplane, MGMT, and the Hives. Their second studio album, Two Hands, surfaced in 2015. In October 2017 the group released the title track ahead of its third studio album, The Free Life, which followed in March 2018.
