Vex

Vex, an anarcho-punk outfit, existed merely briefly during the middle of the 1980s decade. They performed live with similar acts such as Conflict and put out only one 12-inch record called Sanctuary prior to calling it quits. Even though linked to the anarchist circles responsible for acts like Crass, the group inclined more heavily into gothic and new wave territories while maintaining punk foundations. Richard Zsigo, performing under the name Scrote back then, served as the frontman. Long after the group dissolved, in 2014 he collaborated with the Brooklyn-based independent imprint Sacred Bones on a full re-release of Vex material. This collection encompassed the tracks from Sanctuary along with demos, appearances on various compilations, and every remaining recording from their short career.
