Biography
Assembling during the opening years of the millennium in Los Angeles, Volto! coalesced around a core of the city’s top-tier players—Tool drummer Danny Carey, Pigmy Love Circus guitarist John Ziegler, keyboardist Jeff Babko from the Jimmy Kimmel Live! house band, and bassist Lance Morrison, a veteran session musician and Don Henley touring member. The quartet crafts intricate, genre-weaving jazz-fusion rock that links the worlds of King Crimson, Liquid Tension Experiment, and the Mars Volta. Nearly ten years of restricting themselves to concert appearances preceded their first studio sessions, guided by longtime engineer Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Bad Religion), which produced the 2013 debut album Incitare.
