Biography
Hailing from a modest industrial community in New England, the five-piece Massachusetts pop/rock outfit Waltham favors a collective strategy when confronting the notoriously harsh realities of the music industry. Their soaring compositions evoke the spirit of 1980s hitmakers such as Cheap Trick, the Knack, and fellow Bostonians the Cars. Frank Pino, Jr. serves as vocalist, Mike Rorick plays drums, Peet Golan handles bass, Tony Monaco covers rhythm guitar, and Craig Small supplies lead guitar. The group earned a slot on MTV’s You Hear It First, appeared in the Disney documentary America’s Heart and Soul, and collected multiple honors throughout the Boston region. Rykodisc issued the band’s self-titled debut in May of 2005.
