Biography
Among the trailblazers of contemporary soukous stood Wenge Musica. The ensemble originated in the final years of the 1980s and endured repeated lineup adjustments ahead of its relocation to Europe. Not long after that transfer, it fractured into two separate factions in the opening years of the 1990s: Wenge Musica BCBG and Wenge Musica Maison Mere, the latter of which incorporated vocalist Marie Paul Kambulu.
