Biography
WWWINGS formed as an experimental electronic collective whose members, all based in post-Soviet countries, exchange files exclusively over the internet to build their material. Their output merges futuristic deconstructed club music with grime, trap, and industrial elements, yielding dark, volatile, and punishing tracks whose aggressive passages surface suddenly after long stretches of tension. The project began in 2015 with Lit Internet and Lit Daw, who issued the online EPs Blessed and 3000 that year along with Lit Internet’s solo album Angelysium. Lit Eyne, previously known as Lit Empty, later became the third participant. In 2016 the group posted the free online album Phoenix and delivered its first physical release, the 7" EP Meta, via the Infinite Machine label. Planet Mu subsequently signed WWWINGS and put out an expanded vinyl edition of the album under the title Phoenixxx. After Lit Eyne departed for personal reasons, the two remaining members adopted new aliases—Lit Daw becoming AWRWSW and Lit Internet becoming GXXOST—before the duo issued the eighteen-track digital album A+G in 2017.
