Yolanda Rayo

Yolanda Rayo, a Colombian pop singer, began performing at an early age and committed to a career in entertainment once she claimed victory in a school competition held nearby. In her initial professional phase she lent her voice to several ensembles, among them Los Exclusivos de Alex, Yajé, Chucho Nuncia y la Fuerza Mayor, Los Diablos del Caribe, and Grupo Fuego. She later signed with the domestic imprint Sonolux and cut a self-titled debut album in 1999, whose single “Voy a Ganarme Tu Amor” rose on Colombian charts. During that same year Latin magazine TV y Novelas named her Artist of the New Millennium. Her follow-up release, Tiempos Mejores, reached stores in summer 2001.
