Biography
Originating in Glasgow during 2006, the Scotland-based indie pop ensemble Zoey Van Goey assembled its core lineup around keyboardist/vocalist Kim Moore, guitarist Michael John McCarthy, and drummer Matt Brennan. The group issued its first single, "Foxtrot Vandals," in 2007 with production from Belle & Sebastian's Stuart Murdoch. Paul Savage of the Delgados oversaw the follow-up single "Sweethearts in Disguise" the next year. Zoey Van Goey delivered its debut full-length, the Savage-produced The Cage Was Unlocked All Along, in 2009; Chemikal Underground reissued the album in 2010. Bassist Adam Scott joined the band that same year. In 2011 the ensemble returned with its sophomore album, Propeller Versus Wings, again under Savage's production.
