Biography
Adrian Stern works as a Swiss pop singer, songwriter, and guitarist who composes and performs using the schwiizerdüütsch dialect common to the Zürich region. He maintains his residence in Baden, a community of approximately 15,000 residents situated in the Aargau canton roughly 25 kilometers northwest of Zürich. Stern launched his independent recording career in 2003 via a self-titled release on the SME label. His first major-label project, S'Blaue vom Himmel, appeared on Sony BMG in 2005, with Lieber Leider arriving three years later. These Sony BMG efforts achieved strong commercial success in Switzerland, a market where pop singer/songwriters of Stern’s type typically favor standard German or English over Swiss German dialect; S'Blaue vom Himmel reached the Top Five on the Swiss albums chart, while Lieber Leider peaked inside the Top Ten. The latter album yielded two modest hit singles, “Unhaltbar” and “Lieber Lieder.” Beyond the studio, Stern maintains a live band that features Simon Kaufmann on bass and vocals, Simon Kistler on drums and vocals, and Philippe Kuhn on keyboards.
