Aimee Carty

A singer/songwriter who displays her sincerity without hesitation, Aimee Carty captured widespread attention in early 2024 through “2 Days into College,” a sharply drawn portrait of young adult life. Her nimble phrasing and inventive melodic turns drew an unexpected admirer in basketball player Jared McCain, whose own rendition of the track helped elevate the Irish artist’s visibility across the United States.

Born in Ballygar, County Galway, Ireland, Carty first uploaded original material in 2019, issuing “Tell Me Your Story”—a piece inspired by a homeless teenager she regularly encountered in Galway—alongside “I’m Alright Now” at the age of sixteen. She resumed consistent online sharing in 2023, launching with “One Day You Will Fly Too” at the same time she entered Galway Bay FM’s A New Local Hero competition. “Painter” appeared soon afterward, yet it was “2 Days into College,” posted online in December 2023, that achieved viral momentum. Starting guard Jared McCain at Duke University amplified its reach by performing several lines on social media, quickly broadening her digital footprint. The exposure spurred a wave of fan edits, remixes, and mashups that attracted additional listeners, among them North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
