Biography
British vocalist Aiyana-Lee delivered an immediate impression through her commanding voice and fresh reinterpretation of vintage soul and R&B, first gaining attention via the KSI collaboration “Killa Killa” and then unveiling the 2022 EP Wednesday’s Child (Side A).
Raised in London from birth, she carried an evident lineage into the music business: her mother had already established herself as a multi-platinum singer/songwriter, her uncle was David Ruffin of the Temptations, and her grandfather was legendary American soul singer Jimmy Ruffin. Persistent bullying disrupted her school years, prompting a shift to home-schooling that let her channel energy into music earlier than peers. In 2015 she relocated to Los Angeles alongside her mother, steadily advancing through industry ranks while repeatedly displaying her commanding vocal presence. Although “In My Sin” marked her debut single in 2020, the KSI feature on “Killa Killa” ultimately thrust her forward. L.A. Reid quickly signed her to his HITCO imprint; she released three singles throughout 2021 and followed with her opening project, Wednesday’s Child (Side A), at the start of 2022.
