Mereba

Embracing a spectrum that spans soul-infused forward-thinking R&B, folk, and hip-hop, Mereba leans toward storytelling in her compositions. With strong ties to the Southern region, this vocalist/MC, versatile instrumentalist, and beatmaker refined her skills in Atlanta, integrating into the Spillage Village group linked to Dreamville. Launching her independent path through folk-infused soul works such as the 2013 EP Room for Living, she achieved her first release under a major label via the expansive 2019 project The Jungle Is the Only Way Out, which included joint efforts like "Black Truck" alongside 9th Wonder plus "Sandstorm" with JID and "Heatwave" involving 6LACK, both from the Spillage Village circle. After issuing the 2021 EP Azeb, notable for its tender, soothing track "Rider," her contributions shifted mainly to featured roles on tracks led by artists including Saba, Ravyn Lenae, and Baby Rose. Now under Secretly Canadian, her comeback single "Counterfeit" served as the initial glimpse into the forthcoming sophomore full-length The Breeze Grew a Fire, slated for 2025.
