Melbourne's Alexander Biggs crafts hazy, melancholic indie folk that draws initial inspiration from Americana figures such as Elliott Smith and Iron & Wine, though his own distinctive approach emerges clearly through the 2018 track "Car Ride" and the 2019 release "Miserable."

An early immersion in Paramore and My Chemical Romance planted the raw energy of American emo deep in his musical outlook, only for Elliott Smith's introspective indie rock to reshape his direction later. Biggs first surfaced in 2016 via the singles "Out in the Dark" and "Tidal Wave," after which he joined tour bills alongside Julien Baker, Frightened Rabbit, and Evan Dando. His debut EP, Still You Sharpen Your Teeth, arrived in 2017 and carried his woozy indie folk to broader audiences through national radio play. In the next year he made his initial journey abroad for a handful of U.K. shows, then issued his seven-track debut mini-album Whatever Helps You Sleep. With "Car Ride" and "Close Enough" among its tracks, the project secured ongoing presence for Biggs on national radio and streaming services alike. Fresh songs surfaced in 2019, among them "Miserable" and "Madeline."
