Amy Millan

Canadian chanteuse Amy Millan first rose to prominence as the lead singer of indie rock outfit Stars. Her distinctive, youthful vocals have also graced recordings by Sixteen Tons, Broken Social Scene, and Jason Collett. Millan claimed her own creative space in 2006 with the release of her debut solo project, Honey from the Tombs. The romantic and introspective collection required three years to complete and includes contributions from Broken Social Scene members Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, Metric guitarist Jimmy Shaw, bluegrass ensemble Crazy Strings, and Stars colleagues Chris Seligman and Evan Cranley. Arts & Crafts issued the twelve-song album in June 2006. Her next effort, the austere and atmospheric Masters of the Burial, followed in 2009.
