Andreas Kümmert

A native of Deutschland, Andreas Kümmert secured his breakthrough by taking first place in Season Three of the televised vocal contest The Voice of Germany. As a blues-inflected singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose earnest delivery reflects folk-rock leanings, he had earlier served as drummer or frontman for several rock outfits, among them the post-grunge band Silent Cry. In 2013 he entered the audition process for The Voice of Germany. His first album, The Mad Hatter's Neighbor, appeared in early 2014 and registered on the charts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Later that year Here I Am arrived, again charting in those three countries while peaking at number three in Germany. The single "Heart of Stone" captured the win at Unser Song für Österreich in 2015, thereby earning a berth at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, from which he later withdrew.
