Laith Al-Deen first saw the light of day on February 20, 1972, in Karlsruhe, a southwestern German city, where his German mother and Iraqi father raised him. From an early age he dreamed of a career as a professional musician, yet steady progress eluded him until 1998, when the German band Vega invited him to contribute vocals to one of their albums and join them on the road. That opportunity finally opened the door, and with producer Stevie B-Zet at the controls he delivered his debut album, Ich Will Nur Wissen, in 2001. Melomanie arrived the following year, after which his most successful effort, Für Alle, reached stores in 2004 and climbed straight to the top of the German charts. A live recording captured during the accompanying tour lifted his profile even higher, and he kept the momentum going by issuing Die Frage Wie in 2005. Following a brief hiatus he returned with Die Liebe zum Detail in the middle of 2007, a release that settled at number three on the German charts. Later projects such as Session in 2009, Der Letzte Deiner Art in 2011, Was Wenn Alles Gut Geht in 2014, and Bleib Unterwegs in 2016 further solidified his reputation as a pop sensation.
