Yvonne Catterfeld entered the world in Erfurt, Thuringia, during 1979. Piano and flute instruction began when she turned fifteen. Concurrently she took up vocal and dance training that ultimately guided her toward formal studies in pop and jazz at the Music Academy of Leipzig. The seven-track debut KIV appeared in 1998 yet encountered a frosty reception and remained largely overlooked within the domestic market. Once her coursework concluded, she entered the Stimme 2000 competition under the stage name Vivianne. That exposure introduced her to future BMG executive Thomas Stein, who arranged a recording deal with the Hansa Music imprint. The 2001 single “Burn” again failed to register, though the follow-ups “Niemand Sonst” and “Gefuhle” attracted modest attention. A recurring part on the German soap opera Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten arrived in 2002 and occupied the next three years. Heightened television exposure propelled the single “Fur Dich” to the top of the German, Austrian, and Swiss charts, after which the accompanying album Meine Welt earned platinum certification. Farben Meiner Welt reached stores the following year. Her small-screen trajectory encountered another setback with the abrupt cancellation of Sophie -- Braut Wider Willen. Aura, her fourth solo album, surfaced in 2006 and drew mixed notices alongside sluggish commercial performance.
